Internships
An internship at the Washington Division provides valuable, hands-on experience that will make what you have learned in school come alive. Our people are passionate about their work, and their enthusiasm is contagious. By the way, most of our internships are paid positions.
Whether you are finishing your college education and trying to find that "perfect fit," or you are just getting started and want to get a taste of the real world, we have an internship that is right for you.
Internships include, but are not limited to:
- Engineering (all disciplines)
- Construction Management
- Business
- Geology
- Chemistry
- Legal Affairs
- Human Resources
- Information Technology
What Recent Interns Have to Say
"I had heard horror stories from friends about internships that involved cleaning coffee machines and playing days upon days of solitaire. My niche in the estimating function of the Cleveland office allowed little time for solitaire.
"To say my first experience in the business world was a success would be an understatement; it was, quite frankly, remarkable."
David
"I have decided to work towards my long term goal of 'saving the planet' via the route of alternative fuels. As cliché as it sounds, the hands-on, real-world experience of working at Savannah River National Laboratory has provided for me what simply being in a class room could not."
Lauren
"Over the summer, I was given responsibilities beyond a typical internship. My co-workers trusted me with performing important tasks, and I was able to learn an enormous amount in the short time I had."
Kimberly
"As I return to taking classes next semester, I anticipate that certain things will ‘pop’ out at me in lectures as I draw from my experience. It is stimulating to have a job that explicitly shows me how my academic education can be immediately applied and reassures me that the learning doesn’t stop after a degree is earned."
