Why I joined:
I wanted to travel, work on large projects, and make a difference.

Why I've stayed:
I like Washington Division because of the nature of our work, the division's willingness to help me develop professionally, the opportunity to move up the ladder, and the ethical standards set management.

What I do:
Right now, I am taking part in the Professional Rotational Experience Program (PREP) where I've been spending six months each at various projects around the country. It's a way for me to gain some deep knowledge about what we do over an 18-month to two year period.

I started at the Washington Division headquarters in Boise, where I worked with senior safety management to develop training materials and coordinate safety conferences and events.

I then moved to a light rail project where I received first-hand experience in safety management, training, and worker’s compensation.

I will be spending the rest of my rotation at a power project in Wisconsin followed by six months of in-depth focus on government safety standards, high-hazard operations, and community relations at a chemical demilitarization project for the Department of Defense.
