Why I joined:
I definitely thought Washington Division would be a good fit for me because they’re so varied. Variety is really my personality. These are large scale projects all over the world in places I’ve never seen before. It’s very exciting and I feel like the sky is the limit here.
Why I've stayed:
As someone who had pretty limited job experience before coming to work here, I've felt that they really want to develop their employees to become leaders in the industry. Washington Division is a place where your opinion matters.
What I do:
Shortly after graduation, I had the opportunity to take part in Washington Division's Professional Rotational Experience Program (PREP). PREP is a project management training program that exposes recent college graduates to three different projects in different areas of business so they can learn more about the company.
My first rotation was in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where I took part in business development and bid preparation for Washington Safety Management Solutions.
Next, I worked in the Princeton office on the Allegheny Energy Hatfield’s Ferry as well as the Fort Martin Flue Gas Desulfurization project. I took part in the design phase, engineering and estimating.
Finally, I worked on-site at the Eastside Gold Line Extension project in Los Angeles, performing field engineering and project controls duties and learning about our safety culture firsthand.
I am now working in Houston, learning more about chemical engineering, pursuing my PE license, and getting a feel for the business side of oil and gas projects.
