Why I joined:
When I was a child, I told myself that engineering would be my future career. Working at Washington Division is a path to develop myself, to gain more knowledge and to realize my dream.
Why I've stayed:
You can definitely broaden your vision and see how they operate, how they overcome difficulty and how they achieve such tremendous success. You will never narrow yourself; instead, you can open your mind.
What I do:
Immediately after graduating from Cornell, I joined the Professional Rotation Experience Program (PREP). During PREP, I worked for different projects in various locations, including New Jersey, Los Angeles and Denver. I also gained broad experience in procurement, project controls, safety and estimating. My practical experience included working in the underground tunnel beneath Los Angeles as well as participating in the blasting of a mine pit where temperatures reached -20° F.
I then worked for South Oak Creek AQCS Project, a complete engineering, procurement, construction and start-up power project. Today, I am working in project controls in the Princeton office and will move to the field in Milwaukee in the summer of 2008. |
