Government Infrastructure

Washington Division's technical expertise combined with an understanding of logistics and the nuances of working in diverse cultures allows us to successfully deliver a full range of services for government-funded projects.

For nearly a century we have provided dependable engineering and construction services as well as operations and maintenance support to government agencies at home and around the world. Our history with the U.S. Corps of Engineers (USACE) dates to 1933 when we were awarded a railroad contract in Montana and continues to today.

We have been a key player in restoring the infrastructure of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait as a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Naval Facilities Engineering Command contractor. This work includes such diverse tasks as:

  • Providing O&M services at the Ibn Sina Hospital in Baghdad
  • Rehabilitation of nine gas turbine generators in northern Iraq
  • Construction of an entry/exit control point (K-Crossing) at the Kuwait/Iraqi border
  • Sadr City sewer rehabilitation in Baghdad
  • Evaluation and rehabilitation of the Nassiria Pump Station.

The USACE also chose us to construct the massive Olmsted Dam on the Ohio River, the nation’s busiest stretch of inland commercial navigation.

Working under multiple U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) contracts we designed and constructed water treatment and sewer projects at three locations in Egypt. After construction, we maintained these systems and trained owner personnel in the operation and maintenance of these facilities.

We have also been engaged by the U.S. Air Force to execute the Pacer Forge Facility Support contracts. Since 1996 we have been providing design, engineering, procurement, logistics, and construction services for 19 Egyptian Air Force bases and installations.

Washington Division is also executing task orders for the repair and renovation of schools, police stations, and a military facility under the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) Worldwide Environmental Restoration and Construction (WERC) contract. Under this contract we offer full-service environmental science; engineering and remediation; design, build, and operate, and anti-terrorism/ verification.
