More than 25 Years of Support for Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)
Washington Division has been a principal source of studies and economic assessments for EPRI, preparing dozens of major documents that have become standards for power generation companies to plan capital projects and estimate their costs. Often, initial studies and assessments are updated on regular cycles to sustain their value as tools for the industry.
Some of the more recent significant tasks include:

  • An FGD bid preparation and evaluation guideline document for the utility industry to establish criteria for an RFP evaluation of vendor submittals, and a set of baseline technical criteria for vendor operating guarantees
  • Guidelines that serve as the basis for analysis of utility industry trends and cost estimating guidelines
  • Performance, cost, and economic estimates for 500kW to 25MW combustion turbine and reciprocating engine plants for EPRI TAG distributed resources technologies
  • Comprehensive spreadsheet model for 200-800MW sub-critical and supercritical pulverized coal power plants
  • Comprehensive spreadsheet model for 40-600MW sub-critical circulating fluidized bed power plants
  • Cost comparison and model development of a circulating fluidized bed boiler versus a pulverized coal boiler
