Licensing / Permitting
We provide licensing and permitting services to fossil power plant developers and utilities as well as nuclear power plant owners and operators to help clients meet a wide range of regulatory requirements.
Our licensing and permitting services often are integrated into large power plant engineering and construction projects or continuing engineering services or maintenance and modifications contracts. We also provide licensing and permitting services as discrete assignments.
We have experience in virtually all phases of nuclear power plant regulatory compliance and licensing in the United States and abroad. Our nuclear regulatory compliance services require a detailed understanding of issues including:
- Current and past U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements and practices.
- Knowledge of the individual plant licensing bases.
- Close interaction with clients on a broad range of technical issues.
We offer a valuable perspective on the evolution of many requirements gained through our history of involvement in the development of industry standards. We monitor and evaluate the NRC’s proposed rules, regulatory guides, and other regulatory documents, providing feedback to the NRC as appropriate.
We support nuclear plant engineering projects. Much of our licensing support is manifested as evaluations of compliance modifications with existing licensing bases and regulatory commitments to support plant operations. We also assess the impact of evolving regulations and associated guidance.
