Procurement
Washington Division leverages its worldwide procurement capabilities to provide a competitive advantage for clients. We procure materials, equipment, and services from sources that provide the most economical cost, while taking into consideration:
- Safety
- Quality
- Delivery
- Reliability
- Service
We have established operations and project offices around the world where procurement activity is planned, directed, and executed by experienced purchasing professionals. We have a long record of successfully managing and executing procurement activities supporting both large and small projects, as well as daily plant maintenance and service requirements.
- Purchasing: Cost effectiveness in the purchase of material, equipment, and supplies is achieved through competitive bidding, value analysis, and negotiations. Delivery is based on scheduled engineering, construction, and plant requirements.
- Subcontracting: We structure our bid packages consistent with a subcontractor’s ability and to assure subcontractor compliance with schedule and cost objectives. With sound management and fair administration of the contract, claims and litigation are minimized. Our subcontracts have a lower percentage of contract growth than construction industry norms.
- Expediting and Inspections: Expeditors follow the progress of each purchase order from placement of the order through receipt of certified drawings, vendor manuals, and other deliverables identified by the order. We also perform source inspections when required, including quality control inspection and testing. We have an existing network of experienced inspectors located throughout the world.
- Logistics: Our logistics personnel are experienced in developing and executing timely and cost effective transportation plans for both domestic and international projects.
- Warehousing: We provide warehousing at construction sites to receive, control, and record the physical handling of equipment from receipt through installation.
