About Transmission & Distribution
For more than eight decades Washington Division has been serving the energy needs of utilities, industry, and government. A leader in electric power delivery systems, our extensive experience with power distribution and system planning includes over 30,000 miles of transmission lines and more than 1,000 substations. Our current work includes serving as a prime contractor for restoring and expanding the electrical systems in northern Iraq adding more than 800 megawatts of capacity to the country's power grid. Washington Division’s commitment to distribution engineering is demonstrated by our involvement in creating the comprehensive Electric Distribution Systems Engineering Handbook, published by McGraw-Hill. The manual contains the latest technical information used in planning, designing, estimating, constructing, and modernizing overhead and underground distribution systems and is used by utilities worldwide.
