Energy & Environment Projects

Hanford River Corridor
We are completing the cleanup of the DOE’s Hanford site. Included in the scope of work for the project is placing deactivated plutonium production reactors in interim safe storage, cleaning up waste sites and burial grounds located near the Columbia River, demolishing contaminated facilities, and operating an environmental restoration disposal facility.
Idaho Cleanup Project
We are part of a team managing the $2.9 billion environmental cleanup of the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) site. The contract calls for safely cleaning up the 890- square-mile site. more
Idaho National Laboratory
We are part of the management team operating the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in eastern Idaho to help maintain the laboratory’s national leadership in nuclear power and other scientific programs. more
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
As part of Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (LLNS), Washington Division has been selected to provide management & operations services. The lab performs work that is vital to the security and research interests of the United States. more

Los Alamos National Laboratory
We are part of a team that manages and operates Los Alamos National Laboratory. Our primary role in the $14-billion contract is to safely manage the lab’s nuclear and other technically complex operations to support the advancement of science and the safety and security of the country.
Savannah River Site
For almost 20 years, Washington Division has managed this 310-square-mile multi-purpose site for the DOE. Responsibilities include: working with tritium, plutonium, closure and remediation, and directing the activities of the Savannah River National Laboratory. more

Waste Isolation Pilot Plant
Washington Division designed, built and now operates the nation’s only licensed deep geologic nuclear waste repository near Carlsbad, New Mexico. We also coordinate the DOE’s national transuranic waste program. more

West Valley Demonstration Project
This is the first nuclear waste program completed for the vitrification of high-level radioactive waste. Since 1982, Washington Division has managed the cleanup and closure of this facility—including saving the government millions of dollars through reuse of existing facilities to stabilize 600,000 gallons of high-level radioactive waste into chemically immobile solid glass. The facility, which was closed during the late 1970s, was the nation's only commercial nuclear fuel reprocessing facility. We managed this more than $2-billion program ahead of schedule, under budget.
