Project Overview
URS Washington Division provides complete facilities management services in support of Monsanto’s world headquarters and research complex in St. Louis.
The scope of contract services includes:
· Building Operations, Maintenance, and Power Plant Operations
· Design/Engineering
· Construction Management
· Research Equipment Support
· Greenhouse and Growth Chamber Maintenance and Operations
· Technical and Safety Support
The Monsanto site totals 29 buildings and 2.1 million square feet of R&D, headquarters/offices, worldwide data center, and an airport hanger facility.
Highlights & Accomplishments
At the Monsanto world headquarters in 2006, URS Washington Division was the first Federally approved “Resident Contractor” to obtain the VPP Star in OSHA’s Region VII.
In 2006, received the President’s Award for half a million man hours without any lost time.
An extensive vibration analysis program was developed from vibration data collected on 461 pieces of rotating equipment at various intervals based on the criticality. To date, 123 separate vibration problems have been identified and actions recommended, preventing catastrophic equipment failures. Annually, 1,234 man hours are involved in the data collection and analysis.
URS Washington Division maintains Monsanto’s St. Louis site’s entire electrical maintenance program. This maintenance program includes two major utility transformers and four major power distribution centers which feed multiple substations.
