Project Overview
AREVA, a worldwide leader in the uranium mining and production industries, is performing a feasibility study for developing the Imouraren Uranium deposit located in Niger, Africa.
We are providing engineering services including:
- Tailings design.
- Project review.
- Establishment of plant requirements.
- Estimating and cost analysis.
- Procurement.
- Execution plan.
The work is focused on the ore treatment plant, including associated laboratories, sulphuric acid production, reagent storage, disposal of tailings, and evaporation areas as well as the production area maintenance facilities.
The treatment plant will use a conventional process and heap leaching to produce a total of 5,000 tons per year of uranium.
Project start-up is planned for 2010 with the life of the mine projected to be 20-30 years
