Temple LNG Expansion Project

Temple LNG Expansion Project

Project Location:

Ontelaunee Township, Pennsylvania

Client:

UGI Energy Services

Scope:

Feasibility, permitting

Value-Added:

The expansion will help UGI meet the growing demand for gas in the Northeastern markets.

Project Overview

We are currently working with UGI to add additional storage capacity at the Temple LGN plant.  Phase 1, an indicative price for an LNG storage tank, was completed in January 2007.  Phase 2 will encompass resource reports for formal Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) filings.  The third phase will be comprised of engineering, procurement and construction, which will begin once the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approves the expansion.

  • The requirements for project definition of FERC submittals are increasingly rigorous and vital to the success of the projects.
  • The expansion is also commercially sensitive, requiring the use of a strong value engineering discipline, as well as close coordination, to provide the low-cost solution that meets capacity and demand requirements.

Highlights & Accomplishments:

  • Washington Division and Whessoe Oil and Gas Ltd (Whessoe) have formed a co-venture expressly for meeting the full-service needs of the LNG tank, receiving terminal, and peak shaver industry.
  • By combining the LNG storage tank design expertise of Whessoe and the procurement and construction execution strength of Washington Division, the team is able to provide a safe and reliable project delivery plant to UGI.
