OSHA Alliance

In an unprecedented collaboration within the engineering and construction industry, we signed an alliance agreement with OSHA.  Washington Group International & OSHA have agreed to share best practices and technical knowledge in order to foster a culture of accident prevention for a safer workplace.  Our role in this alliance is to:

  • Provide information and resources to others in our industry through mentoring and guidance.
  • Develop training and educational curricula that can be inDivisiond into existing company programs.
  • Cross-train OSHA personnel, industry ES&H practitioners and engineering/construction contractors in "best practices" in accident prevention.
  • Participate in stakeholder groups and other forums to provide input into developing safety and health standards for the construction industry.
  • Offer free bilingual (English/Spanish) safety training to small and medium-sized general contractors who are unable to attend national training.

Based on our safety practices, OSHA has recently published a case study detailing how we have inDivisiond our design for safety process into the construction of the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Facility in eastern Idaho.
