Voluntary Protection Program
The Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) is the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) official recognition of outstanding commitment to the safety and health of employees.
OSHA and the Department of Energy have awarded several of our projects VPP Star Demonstration status in recognition of safety excellence. They include:
- Anniston Chemical Agent Disposal Facility, Anniston, AL
- Monsanto Company’s World Headquarters near St. Louis, MO
- Pine Bluff Chemical Agent Disposal Facility, Pine Bluff, AR
- Port Washington Generating Station, Port Washington, WI
- Rocky Mountain Arsenal, Denver, CO
- Savannah River Site, Aiken, SC
- Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility, Umatilla, OR
- Waste Isolation Pilot Plant, Carlsbad, NM
- Weldon Springs site Remedial Action Project, St. Charles, MO
- West Valley Demonstration Project, West Valley, NY
- White Sands Test Facility, Las Cruces, NM
The average VPP worksite has a Days Away Restricted or Transferred (DART) case rate of 52% below the average for its industry.
Fewer injuries and illnesses mean greater profits as workers’ compensation premiums and other costs plummet. Entire industries benefit as VPP sites evolve into models of excellence and influence practices industry-wide.
