05/07/07 Anniston Earns Prestigious EPA Recognition

The Anniston Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (ANCDF) has been inducted into the EPA's prestigious Performance Track Program.

The program recognizes and rewards businesses and public facilities that demonstrate strong environmental performance beyond current regulatory requirements.

Membership in the Performance Track Program is the environmental equivalent of membership in the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Voluntary Protection Program - which ANCDF has previously achieved.

ANCDF’s selection means Washington Division is the first Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Treatment Storage and Disposal facility in Alabama to be granted EPA Performance Track status. It is also only the second RCRA Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility to be granted membership in the EPA’s entire Region IV along with a facility in Florida.

Region IV covers Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee.
